Abernathy Rebuild Day 1

Abernathy Rebuild Day 1

March 19th, 2018

After the months and months of planning and anticipation, the Abernathy Rebuild officially began at 8am on March 19th, 2018. 

We saw a little rain in the morning and a little more in the afternoon, but overall the weather turned out great for outdoor work. As is common for the first days of most larger projects, we experienced a few growing pains as we figured out the best way to coordinate for the day, but everyone did great work, and we can already see a difference in the park's boardwalks. Our landscaping crew also got a lot of mulch spread, improving the park's aesthetics in the grassy areas and around the trees. 

The City of Clemson extends their thanks to all of our volunteers who came out to help. A special thanks also goes out to the Clemson McDonalds for sponsoring today's lunch and to Green Crescent Trails for their work in setting up lunch sponsors.
