Abernathy Rebuild Day 4

March 22nd, 2018

A chilly morning led into a cool and breezy but sunny day. After such a cold day yesterday, we learned our lesson and started the morning with hot coffee and a toasty fire in the pavilion's fireplace to provide a space for everyone to warm up. Both additions were welcomed by everyone who joined us this morning. We've continued to greet familiar faces and meet new ones, and the transformation of Abernathy Park continues to progress. While we know, and have known, we will not complete the redecking with this week's community build project, the more progress we see, the more excited we are to see when the entire boardwalk decking is replaced. 

Thank you again to all of our volunteers, and a special thank you to Crosspoint Church, who brought hot dogs, brownies, cookies, and chips for lunch today. In fact, Crosspoint Church has also graciously allowed the use of their parking lot for our volunteers this week and and provided several volunteers as well.
