After the success of the Abernathy Boardwalk Re-decking Community Project this past March, the City of Clemson is now seeking volunteers for additional community build days. Again, positions are available for a variety of skill levels and abilities. Lunch will be provided to all volunteers and a commemorative t-shirt given to all first time volunteers.
Before signing up, please note:
- Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older. Volunteers under 18 years old will not be able to operate the saw.
- All volunteers (or a parent/guardian for those under 18) are required to read and sign a release form before beginning their shift.
- Volunteer shifts are divided into crews rather than positions, so those wishing to work on the same crew should sign up for the same crew and are encouraged to sign up at the same time.
- All safety equipment and tools will be provided. You must wear closed toed shoes (work boots if possible) and are STRONGLY encouraged to wear long pants and long sleeves. While we understand the weather will likely be warm, given the nature of the work you will be doing and the environment you will be working in, covered extremities provide better protection.
