Due to the rebuild effort, Abernathy Park will be closed during these dates.
Positions are available for a variety of skill levels and abilities, and commemorative t-shirts are still available for first time volunteers. Snacks and beverages will be provided to all shifts, and lunch will be provided for those working the Thursday and Friday shifts. No lunch will be provided on Saturday shift.
Volunteers are asked to arrive a few minutes before the start of the shift in order to allow time for check-in. Afternoon volunteers are asked to arrive at 12:30pm if they would like to eat lunch. Parking will be available at and around Abernathy Park. Signs will indicate acceptable parking locations.
Before signing up, please note:
- Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older. Volunteers under 18 years old will not be able to operate the saw.
- All volunteers (or a parent/guardian for those under 18) are required to read and sign a release form before beginning their shift.
- Those wishing to work on the same crew should sign up for the same crew and are encouraged to sign up at the same time.
- All safety equipment and tools will be provided. You must wear closed toed shoes (work boots if possible) and are STRONGLY encouraged to wear long pants and long sleeves. While we understand the weather will likely be warm, given the nature of the work you will be doing and the environment you will be working in, covered extremities provide better protection.
