REQUEST FOR IMMEDIATE ASSISTANCE FROM PROPERTY MANAGERS/OWNERS, HOAS, AND ALL MEMBERS OF THE CLEMSON COMMUNITY
On March 23, 2020, the Governor issued an Executive Order instructing law enforcement officers “to do whatever may be deemed necessary to maintain peace and good order during the State of Emergency.” Further, the Executive Order instructed officers:
to prohibit or disperse any congregation or gathering of people, unless authorized or in their homes, in groups of three (3) or more people, if any such law enforcement official determines, in their discretion, that any such congregation or gathering of people poses, or could pose, a threat to public health.
Current SCDHEC projections indicate that transmission of the COVID-19 virus is expected to sharply escalate in our State. Accordingly, as long as the State of Emergency exists in South Carolina, I have instructed all law enforcement officers to enforce the Governor’s order within the City of Clemson with respect to gatherings of three or more persons.
However, as the weather warms, members of our community will naturally want to use common neighborhood or multifamily housing recreational amenities, such as pools, playgrounds, clubhouses, and workout equipment. In the course of enjoying the warmer weather and time off from work, people may overlook the prohibition against gatherings of three or more people, fail to maintain social distancing, and fail to maintain safe hygiene practices with respect to common surfaces and equipment.
PLEASE ACCEPT this notice as a request for any and all assistance you can provide to discourage gatherings of three or more persons, to encourage social distancing, and to implement safe hygiene practices. Your help may well save lives!
Your assistance might take the form of closing pools and clubhouses until the State of Emergency is lifted, or perhaps sanitizing all surfaces in a common area between uses by two or fewer people, or posting signs prohibiting gatherings, or even just reminding others to remember the importance of social distancing.
PLEASE HELP EVERYONE IN OUR COMMUNITY
STAND STRONG AGAINST THE COVID-19 VIRUS.
