In keeping with instructions from the governor's office and the guidelines from SCRPA, DHEC, and CDC, the City of Clemson has made the difficult decision to cancel all spring sports for the 2020 season. This includes youth baseball, youth softball, youth spring soccer, and adult church softball. There may be some baseball/softball events in July if things get better and some of the restrictions are lifted.
Camp Clemson has also been cancelled, due to the lack of facilities that can safely accommodate our camp numbers and the ability to adhere to the same guidelines as spring sports. Each participant will receive an email early next week about a credit or refund option.
Camp Clemson does plan to offer some virtual (and possible in-person if deemed safe) activities for the youth beginning in late June or July. Please visit our website and facebook page for information as we get closer to those dates.
This decision was a hard one to make, but, with the help of City Council, we fill it is the best one to make at the present time for the safety of our citizens. Our number one goal is to protect the safety and well-being of the families in the Clemson and Central area.
We really miss our interactions with all of the Parks and Recreation families and look forward to returning to sports again in the Fall.
