For the past 26 years, the Clemson Area Chamber of Commerce has hosted Clemsonfest, a communitywide celebration in honor of Independence Day. The 2020 event was slated to be moved back into the city limits of Clemson, with entertainment and activities staged on College Avenue on July 3rd. As business and activities around our state came under new guidelines and restrictions due to the coronavirus COVID-19, those plans were revised in an effort to provide the safest environment for all producing and attending the event.
As of Wednesday, June 17, 2020, with new coronavirus cases escalating in the upstate, including new cases in the Clemson area, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Clemsonfest event. However, should conditions improve and stabilize, we hope to hold a community event, incorporating some of the same planned activities in the near future.
We wish everyone a safe and happy Fourth of July and look forward to celebrating together again in the future.
