Clemson University SARS-CoV-2 in Wastewater Monitoring Record

Clemson University SARS-CoV-2 in Wastewater Monitoring Record

Clemson University continues to test the levels of SARS-CoV-2 in the University and City Wastewater Treatment Facilities, including the University Plant, Clemson's Cochran Road Plant, and the Pendleton Plant, which also serves a portion of the City of Clemson. Dr. David Freedman presented some of these testing results to Council at the Special Called Meeting on June 24th.

The full results as of July 1st are included below, and other results are forthcoming. We will continue to update as we receive more test results.

Thus far, these results indicate that the virus is being actively transmitted in the Clemson area. Wearing a face covering has been shown to decrease the likelihood of transmission, especially when done in conjunction with social distancing. While the mask ordinance will, hopefully, help slow the spread of the virus and lower these numbers, remember that it may be another week or two before we see results from this change.
