Notice of Public Hearing
The City of Clemson City Council will hold a livestreamed public hearing at 6:15 p.m. on December 7, 2020 in the Council Chambers at City Hall on the item described below. This will be the second public hearing on the issue.
Please note that City Hall is currently closed to the public due to the ongoing COVID pandemic. Everyone is invited to view the hearing on the City of Clemson YouTube channel. Comments may be submitted by telephone during the hearing by dialing 864-653-9886 and following the instructions.

2020-R-04 Proposed Text Amendment (Private Streets Prohibition)
As drafted, the proposed text amendment includes a ban on the construction of new private streets; requires any modification of street standards necessitated by site conditions to be approved by both the City Engineer and Director of Planning and Codes; and requires the owner of existing private streets proposed to be taken over by the City to obtain and pay for a third-party engineer’s evaluation. It should be noted that an alternate proposal that would permit additional new private streets is also under consideration. Comments will be accepted on any and all aspects of either.
The session will include an overview of the proposed changes presented by staff prior to the opportunity for public input. Links to copies of related documents can be found on the online City Calendar at: www.cityofclemson.org
