City News and Events

Current and Upcoming Projects in the City of Clemson

The City would like to update citizens on some current and upcoming construction projects:

  • Cambridge Creek is located at the corner of 93 and Cambridge/Berkeley and is a 400-bedroom townhome complex being built.
  • Dockside (where the old Holiday Inn used to be) is a 730 bedroom mixed-use project which is expected to break ground within weeks.
  • Four large projects are going on Downtowns:
    • The Shepherd Hotel (where BB&T used to be)
    • 405 College (the old Blue Heron site)
    • The new St. Andrews Catholic Church and expansion (at the site of the current St. Andrews Catholic Church)
    • Earle Street Apartments – The owners will be demolishing a portion of the 5 story building and building a new one.

The City has detailed Site Management plans in place for all of these projects to minimize negative impacts on merchants, citizens, and visitors by keeping roads and sidewalks safe and open and by having appropriate traffic control measures (and other safety and quality of life issues).

 

Please note: Another project – The Grange – located on 123 near Issaqueena Trail is a 400 unit residential development; however, this project is located in the County and the City has no jurisdiction over that project.
