Juneteenth Event

The Friends of the Clemson Area African American Museum, Littlejohn Community Center, and the City of Clemson will host a Juneteenth Celebration June 19 from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Littlejohn Community Center in Clemson.

Juneteenth is an annual holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the United States. Juneteenth, also called Emancipation Day, is observed annually on June 19. 

Clemson Mayor Robert Halfacre will welcome the crowd and Clemson City Council member Alesia Smith will give an historical overview of Juneteenth. Sheba Foxx, radio personality for JAMZ 107.3, will serve as host.  

There will be something for the entire family with food and live entertainment by artist Jaison Wade and also The Company Band featuring Thomas McCord, along with vendors for food, merchandise, and information.

The Friends of the Green Crescent Trail will host multiple bike giveaways throughout the event.  

In addition, a unity mural by artist Patro Ulmer will be unveiled for public viewing. A parade will follow at 6 p.m.

Guest and Handicapped Parking Information:

Parking will be available in the following areas and in this order (meaning once the closest and best lots have been filled, we'll start filling the next one):

Lot 1) The field across from Littlejohn on Hwy 93
Lot 2) The field on the corner of Abel Rd. and Hwy 93
Lot 3) The field below Rotary Park (enter this lot on Raven Lane)
Lot 4) Ingles Parking Lot *** Don't worry about the distance!

We've got you covered with a CAT Bus shuttling you every hour on the hour from 3-9. The bus will drop you off at the front of the community center.

Limited handicapped parking will be available at the front of Littlejohn Community Center. Additional handicapped parking will be available on Raven Lane.
