Notice of Public Hearing Concerning Application

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on April 3 at 5:30 p.m.at Clemson City Hall, located at 1250 Tiger Boulevard Clemson, SC 29631. The City of Clemson will hold a public hearing concerning a grant application to be submitted to the South Carolina Department of Commerce, Grants Administration on or about April 17, 2023, for a Community Development Block Grant.

The City of Clemson is requesting $685,910 in grant funds to replace waterlines and non-standard hydrants east of Anderson Highway between New Hope Road, Pendleton Road and Old Stone Church Road for increased fire protection, improved water pressure and quality. The City will commit $68,591 in local matching funds towards the Old Stone Church Water Project. It is estimated that this project will benefit 113 people in the proposed service area.

This public hearing and the matters to be discussed are subject to the provisions of the City of Clemson Citizen Participation Plan, developed in anticipation of participation in the State of South Carolina's Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, providing for the participation of the citizens of the City of Clemson in the planning and implementation of community and economic development projects which will involve CDBG funds.
