NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on September 5 at 6:30 p.m.at Clemson City Hall in the Council Chamber, located at 1250 Tiger Boulevard Clemson, SC 29631. The City of Clemson will hold a public hearing concerning a grant application to be submitted to the South Carolina Department of Commerce, Grants Administration on or about September 15, 2023, for a Community Development Block Grant.

The City of Clemson is requesting $750,000 in grant funds to install approximately 2800 LF of new 5' wide sidewalk along Abel Rd. & Curtis Cir. and 650 LF of lane separated pedestrian facilities. The new sidewalk will connect 40 residences to existing sidewalk along HWY 93, Rotary Park, Little John Community Center and Abel Baptist Church. The City will commit approximately $226,555 in local matching funds towards the Abel Road Sidewalk Project. It is estimated that this project will benefit 100 people in the proposed service area.

This public hearing and the matters to be discussed are subject to the provisions of the City of Clemson Citizen Participation Plan, developed in anticipation of participation in the State of South Carolina's Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, providing for the participation of the citizens of the City of Clemson in the planning and implementation of community and economic development projects which will involve CDBG funds.
