Now Accepting Applications for Accommodations Tax Grants

CITY OF CLEMSON

TOURISM RELATED ACCOMMODATIONS TAX FUNDING

The City of Clemson is inviting applications from eligible organizations for accommodations tax funding. Any non-profit organization or any government agency, board, commissions, or political subdivision other than those specifically designated as a state agency may request funds for tourism related activities in the City of Clemson

"Tourism Related Activites" includes the following:

  • Advertising and promotion of tourism so as to develop and increase tourist attendance through the generation of publicity
  • Promotion of the arts and cultural events
  • Construction, maintenance, and operation of facilities for civic and cultural activities including construction and maintenance of access and the nearby roads and utilities for the facilities
  • The criminal justice system, law enforcement, fire protection, solid waste collection, and health facilities when required to serve tourists and tourist facilities. This is based on the estimated percentage of cost directly attributed by tourists. 
  • Public facilities such as restrooms, dressing rooms, parks, and parking lots. 
  • Tourist shuttle transportation
  • Control and repair of waterfront erosion, including beach renourishment
  • The operating of visitor information centers.

Deadline for Submission of applications is Friday, September 6, 2024 at 5pm. Applications will be reviewed by the accommodations tax advisory committee during the month of September.
