Clemson Under Red Flag Fire Alert: High Wildfire Risk

Clemson Under Red Flag Fire Alert: High Wildfire Risk

The South Carolina Forestry Commission has issued a Red Flag Fire Alert for the Clemson area, warning residents of heightened wildfire danger due to prevailing dry weather and low humidity. The alert urges the community to exercise extreme caution and voluntarily postpone all outdoor burning, as even seemingly small outdoor burns are potentially hazardous.

Residents are strongly advised to avoid activities such as:

  • Burning yard debris or leaves
  • Using fire pits or outdoor fireplaces
  • Discarding cigarettes or other smoking materials improperly

The South Carolina Forestry Commission will continue to monitor weather conditions and provide updates as necessary. We appreciate everyone's cooperation in helping protect our community and taking this alert seriously.
