Waste Water Treatment Plant
The City’s sewer system is divided into two different drainage basins. The older side of the system - which serves the area west of SC Highway 93 - drains to the Cochran Road Wastewater Treatment Plant. This drainage basin area includes the original parts of the sewer system. The Cochran Road Wastewater Plant is a 1.15 MGD extended aeration plant and currently has an average daily flow of 0.692 MGD. An upgrade was recently completed to upgrade our sludge handling system capability. An expansion of this facility is currently underway.
Pendleton/Clemson Waste Water Treatment Plant
The Pendleton/Clemson Wastewater Treatment Plant serves the area east of SC Highway 93, which includes the most recently annexed areas and the old East Clemson area. The Pendleton/Clemson Wastewater Treatment Plant is a 2.0 Million Gallon per Day facility that is jointly owned by the City of Clemson and the Town of Pendleton. The City of Clemson owns 50% of the plant, the Town of Pendleton owns 45% of the plant, and Anderson County owns 5%. The plant currently has an average daily flow of 800,000 gallons per day. The City of Clemson currently has a metered flow calculation of 400,000 gallons per day to the Pendleton/Clemson plant.
