Appeals for parking violations are heard at the Clemson Municipal Court. You may also email your appeal to appeals@cityofclemson.org.
Motion for New Trial
You must first file a written Motion for New Trial with the Clerk of Court within 10 days of your court date. The motion should include your full name, date of birth, current mailing address, phone number, a copy of the ticket/warrant, and a full explanation of your reason for requesting a new trial. Please send an additional copy of the motion so that we may stamp it received by the Court. If the Judge grants your motion, a new bench trial or jury trial will be scheduled in our Court. If the Judge denies the motion, you will then need to file an appeal.
Notice of Appeal
If a Motion for New Trial is denied and you wish to appeal a conviction by a Judge or Jury, a written Notice of Appeal must be delivered to the Court within 30 days of your court date. The Notice of Appeal should include your full name, date of birth, mailing address, phone number, a copy of the ticket/warrant, and a full explanation of your reason to appeal. Please bring an additional copy of the Appeal so that we may stamp it received by the Court. After you have filed the appeal, the Court will forward the appeal to the Court of General Sessions located in Pickens, S.C. You will be notified by the Clerk of Court for Pickens County as to the time and date your appeal will be heard.
Expunging an Arrest Record
The Clemson Municipal Court expunges misdemeanor criminal arrest records if the defendant is found to be “Not Guilty” or if the charge is “Nolle Prosequi” or “Dismissed” by the Court, AND ONLY in the event the person was fingerprinted for said offense. Requests should be made either in person at the Court, in writing, or by faxing a written request to Clemson Municipal Court, 1250 Tiger Boulevard Ste 3, Clemson, SC, 29631 or (864) 653-2044. Once 31 days have passed from the time of the request, the Judge will sign an Expungement Order. The Court will then destroy said record and forward a copy of the order to the Clemson Police Department, S.C. Department of Motor Vehicles, and S.C. Law Enforcement Division (SLED). If you were convicted of a traffic/criminal offense, or if you participated in a Diversion Program, and wish to have the record expunged, you must contact the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit Solicitor’s Office at (864) 898-5628.
Obtaining Certified Court Records
Certified Court Records can be obtained by written request only. Please mail the request to Clemson Municipal Court at 1250 Tiger Boulevard Ste 3, Clemson, SC, 29631, or fax the request to (864) 653-2044. Please provide your name, date of birth, and current mailing address with said request. Clemson Municipal Court can only provide a record for those offenses that occurred within the City of Clemson jurisdiction.
Asking for a Court Continuance
Continuances for Bench Trials are granted by the arresting officer only. You must contact your officer prior to court by calling the City of Clemson Police Department at (864) 624-2000 to learn when your officer is next on duty. The court cannot continue a case scheduled for Bench Trial.
Continuances for Jury Trial can only be granted by the Clerk of Court when approved by the Judge. You may contact the Clerk of Court directly by dialing (864) 653-2042.
**Please Note:**
The City of Clemson Municipal court uses a third party vendor for processing phone and online payments. A convenience fee is charged for this service and the City of Clemson receives none of the proceeds from the above stated convenience fee.
The City of Clemson does not charge any fee for cash, checks, cashiers check, or money orders paid in person at the court or for checks and money orders mailed to the court.
Pay Parking Ticket Fine Only

Pay all other Citation Fines Online
You may pay your fine online with a credit card by going to https://paythatticket.com/directpay. Please allow 24 hours from the time you received a citation before trying to pay online.
Pay Citation in Person
You may pay your fine in person at the Court located in the City Hall Complex (1250 Tiger Boulevard at the corners of Highways 76 and 123), Monday - Thursday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. and Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.. We accept cash, personal checks, money orders, cashier checks, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover.
Pay Citation by Mail
Checks, money orders, or cashiers check should be made payable to the City of Clemson and mailed to Clemson Municipal Court, 1250 Tiger Boulevard, Suite 3, Clemson, S.C. 29631.
Citation Scheduled Time Payments
Requests for a Scheduled Time Payment (STP) must be made in person and are authorized by the Judge only. If the Judge grants an STP, a form outlining the terms of payment will be provided to the payee.
*§14-1-214(A)of the S.C. Code of Laws, states:
Clerks of court, magistrates, and municipal court judges may:
(1) accept payment by credit card or debit card of a fine, fee, assessment, court cost, or other surcharge; and
(2) impose a fee for processing payment by credit card. Notwithstanding fees imposed by other provisions of law, the clerk of court, magistrate, and municipal court judge must impose a separate fee on the person making a payment by credit card that wholly offsets the amount of administrative fees charged to the court.
Show Proof of Insurance
Proof of Insurance MUST be provided prior to the scheduled court date and time, or you must show proof during the scheduled court date and time, at the Municipal Court located in the City Hall Complex (1250 Tiger Blvd Ste 3, at the corner of Highways 76 and 123). The insurance card presented should show that coverage was in effect at the time the citation was received. If you have lost your card, please contact your insurance company immediately. They can fax proof directly to the court at (864) 653-2044. Once valid proof has been shown, the charge will be dismissed. If you fail to show proof prior to or during court, a fine will be assessed by the Judge. Proof of insurance WILL NOT be accepted after the scheduled court date and time.
Show Proof of Driver's License
Proof of a valid Driver’s License MUST be provided prior to the scheduled court date and time, or you must show proof during the scheduled court date and time, at the Municipal Court located in the (1250 Tiger Blvd Ste 3, at the corner of Highways 76 and 123). The Driver’s License must have been valid at the time the citation was received. If you have lost your Driver’s License, please contact your home state’s Department of Motor Vehicles immediately for a replacement. Once valid proof has been provided, the charge will be dismissed. If you fail to show proof prior to or during court, a fine will be assessed by the Judge. Proof of a valid Driver’s License WILL NOT be accepted after the scheduled court date and time.
Show Proof of Registration
Proof of Registration MUST be provided prior to the scheduled court date and time, or you must show proof during the scheduled court date and time, to the arresting officer. The court cannot dismiss this charge without the officer’s approval. To contact your arresting officer, call the Police Department at (864) 624-2000 to see when your officer is on duty. You will then need to establish a time to meet your officer at the Police Department located at 1198 Tiger Boulevard (Highway 123). You may also elect to come to court to show proof at the pre-determined court date and time. Once valid proof has been shown, the charge will be dismissed by the officer. If you fail to show proof prior to or during court, a fine will be assessed by the Judge. Proof of registration WILL NOT be accepted after the scheduled court date and time.
