The Public Works Department is committed to providing an individual service to the citizens of Clemson, as well as a safe and pleasant work environment for their employees. Public Works is dedicated to encouraging and educating the employees with the knowledge, skills, materials, and equipment necessary for peak performance.
By providing good quality employees and proper management, the Public Works Department can offer efficient, cost effective services to the community in a timely manner that will preserve and enhance the quality of life for all in Clemson.
The daily collection of garbage, brush, leaves, junk, and debris, along with the beautification and maintenance of city buildings, city streets, and public right of ways will enhance the aesthetics and functionality of the City of Clemson.

Monday – Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Brush Grinding/Mulch/Recycling Center Hours
Tuesday – Saturday, 8:00 am – 4:45 pm
The Grinding/Recycling site is closed daily from 11:30am – 12:30pm for lunch.
Please note: The Public Works Facility works for Clemson residents 365 days per year. On-Call emergency crews are always on standby in case they are needed. If you need assistance outside of business hours, please contact the City of Clemson Police Department at (864) 624-2000, and the dispatcher will contact the on-call personnel.
