Notice of Public Hearing
The City of Clemson City Council has scheduled public hearing on the matters listed below. The session will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, November 7, 2022 in the Council Chambers in City Hall, 1250 Tiger Boulevard, Clemson, SC 29631.
Hearing Topic:
2022-R-10 Proposed Text Amendment: Courts are currently not permitted in the CM (Non-residential) District, but are permitted in the C District and CP-2 District. At the request of Clemson University, staff developed this proposed amendment to allow for the conversion of Gentry Hall, an office facility located in the CM District adjacent to campus, into a new municipal court facility. As proposed, Chapter 19 (Zoning) of City Code would be amended to permit courts in the CM District as conditional uses, with conditions established to regulate pedestrian and vehicular traffic, lighting, and buffering. The Planning Commission approved the draft on October 11, 2022.
