City of Clemson Municipal Election Candidate Filing

The Board of Voter Registration and Elections of Pickens County will be conducting the City of Clemson Municipal Election on March 23, 2021. This is a nonpartisan election and no party affiliation shall be placed on the ballot. The special election will fill the unexpired term of the city council seat held by Councilman Robert Halfacre.

Registered voters who have lived in and have been a resident of this municipality for a period of not less than 6 months immediately preceding the date of this election may file as a candidate beginning at Noon, January 15, 2021,  until filing closes at Noon on January 29, 2021. Candidates will file with the City Clerk at Clemson City Hall (1250 Tiger Blvd. Ste. 1, Clemson, SC, 29631) during normal business hours.

Filing will be closed January 18th in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr.  Holiday.

At the time of filing, each candidate must submit a completed Statement of Candidacy Form and pay the $10 filing fee.

Important Note on Ethics Forms – Concerns candidate filing for all offices

Candidates are required to file a Statement of Economic Interests and a Campaign Disclosure online with the State Ethics Commission at http://ethics.sc.gov. Contact the State Ethics Commission for more information.  If not done in a timely manner, you may be subject to a fine by the Ethics Commission.
